So, I’m choosing to follow Christ and do just that. Yes, I’m even going to love those who go against what I believe. What I’m NOT going to love is the thief. Satan, who comes to steal, kill and destroy that love.
Think about it…people are being divided BY LOVE! What a perfect plan of the enemy to use THAT to cause division among people. God created us to love HIM…to have fellowship with HIM….and to be united with HIM for eternity! Satan is getting people distracted from God’s love and focused on man’s love.
If any girl comes to me in distress because she doesn’t have a boyfriend or if she is brokenhearted because her boyfriend doesn’t “love her anymore”. Do you know what I tell them?
First, let me tell you what I don’t tell them. I don’t say, “Stop feeling that way towards them!” Why not? Because until they understand who God is in their lives, they don’t know how to “just stop feeling that way.”
We are trying to get the world to see something they can’t see. It’s like trying to force a blind man to walk through a maze by just yelling at him from a distance; telling him he’s going the wrong way without offering to take his hand and lead him.
This is what I say to those ladies…I look them in the eyes and say, “Look, I know it’s not the same, but I think you’re awesome! Even better though, God thinks you’re awesome too and He knows better than I do, because He made you. Spend some time for yourself finding out how much He loves you. He thinks you are so special and has amazing plans for your life! He loves you SO much that He sent His Son to die for YOU.”
Then I follow up with praying for them and then texting or emailing them some encouraging scriptures for them to read for themselves. Sometimes I will send them a book in the Bible to start reading in.
We have to plant a seed of God’s love into people’s lives. That’s the only way to reach the world. Be a light for them to follow. Take their hand when needed and BE God’s love.
“So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other. Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.” – John 13:34-35
